The Crusaders – Newport Jazz Festival “87

The Crusaders - Newport Jazz Festival

The Crusaders take the stage at the 1987 Newport Jazz Festival. Beginning in the early ’60s as a hard bop group, the band eventually adopted a sound incorporating elements of R&B and pop. It’s really complicated music but they make it sound so easy… my favourite jazz funk band. Jazz at its best and one of the best jazz ensemble ever.
