With almost seven decades of career, he has played with most of the greats of jazz, to mention just a few: Don Ellis, Eric Dolphy, Thelonious Monk, Cannonball Adderley or Sonny Rollins and was part of the famous Miles Davis quintet, with Herbie Hancock, Tony Williams and Wayne Shorter.
