The Crusaders – Live At Montreux (1976). Killer performance. I still listen to them today. The line up was so special right: Larry Carlton – guitar, Stix Hooper – drums, Wilton Felder – sax, Pops Popwell – bass, Joe Sample – keys. They were either the most funk band in jazz or the most jazz band in funk, I don’t know what to choose …. So rich, so swinging and funky, and Larry blends in perfectly with the trademark sound. This is Such a Great Concert, it’s a shame it is so short.
